Our wonderful relationship with The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library began in 2007, the year we held our inaugural Joy Awards & Forum on the beautiful grounds. Around that time, one of the dedicated docents introduced Paula to their brand new Air Force One Discovery Center (AFODC) program — a remarkable free field trip experience (only available to school classes) that broadens kids’ horizons by giving them the opportunity to take on true-to-life governmental roles.
A huge challenge for innumerable schools is bus funding for field trip opportunities. In our first year of partnership with the AFODC, The Reagan Foundation provided bus funding for five Right Road classes. Last year, they provided funding for 25 Right Road classes. And this school year, The Reagan Foundation and Edison International will be providing bus funding for 30+ Right Road classes!
The AFODC Director shared, “You are simply the best. We value this partnership as much as you do. Together we are changing lives and the future.”
And a child’s comment sums up the true meaning of our partnership with the AFODC: “I just want to thank you because of the amazing experience I had at The Ronald Reagan Library. I learned and saw history!”
